At Tickets for Good, we’re all about making live events more accessible – not just for entertainment, but for community, wellbeing, and meaningful connection. That’s why we’re proud to be supporting Comedy Night of the Year in partnership with The Loss Foundation – a charity doing incredible work to support people facing cancer bereavement.
Their work is vital. They offer free support to adults who have lost loved ones to cancer, through groups, workshops, and nationwide Walk & Talk events. As they put it:
"Grief is hard enough without isolation on top of it."
It’s a simple but powerful mission – to make sure no one has to face grief alone.
We spoke to The Loss Foundation to learn more about their work, their advice for those who may be struggling, and how events like Comedy Night of the Year can help make a real difference.
The Loss Foundation is the UK’s only dedicated cancer bereavement charity. We provide free support to adults who have lost a loved one to cancer, through support groups, grief workshops, therapy groups, and our growing programme of national Walk & Talk events.
Our mission is simple – to make sure that no one has to face grief alone when they have lost someone they love to cancer. We want to offer people the support, understanding, and connection they deserve, because grief is hard enough without isolation on top of it.
It’s so normal to feel nervous. We often hear from people that they thought about attending one of our events for months before they actually came, and that the hardest part was just showing up.
Our spaces are welcoming, gentle, and there’s no pressure to talk. People tell us time and again that it’s a huge relief to be around others who simply get it. Grief can feel lonely, but it doesn’t have to be.
There are countless.
We so often see transformation at our events even though what we are doing is really simple. I distinctly remember one of our users bravely sharing that they had felt so hopeless and helpless after their partner died, with little reason to continue, but finding community and understanding through The Loss Foundation saved their life. That moment has stayed with us.
Grief can feel like everything has stopped, and often, it’s the social world that disappears first. Live events can offer something grief rarely gives – connection, joy, and even laughter.
Making these experiences accessible means giving people a chance to feel part of something again, without needing to explain themselves.
We run free online and in-person support events throughout the year, which are open to any adults who need support in cancer loss. People may also want to join our team as a volunteer, hosting walks and supporting others in the process. We provide full training and supervision. You can find everything at www.thelossfoundation.org, including ways to volunteer or donate.
This is a big year for us – we’re celebrating 10 years of our flagship fundraising event, Comedy Night of the Year, our annual comedy night.
It’s our biggest event yet and helps us raise vital funds to keep our support services free. We’re also growing our Walk & Talk programme to more regions across the UK so that support is no longer a postcode lottery.
Come to an event. Share our work. Make a donation if you can. Or just help spread the word, so that someone grieving knows where to find us when they need support the most.
This year’s Comedy Night of the Year is not just a night of laughter – it’s a celebration of community, resilience, and the work The Loss Foundation has been doing for a decade.
Thanks to our partnership, Tickets for Good is helping make this incredible event accessible to even more people, including those in the NHS, work for a charity, work in education or receieved government cost of living support, who can book through our platform.
As The Loss Foundation told us:
“We’re so grateful to be working with Tickets for Good – their platform is helping us open our doors to hard working public sector workers, and helps us fill the room with warmth, connection and laughter at a time when people really need it. Our comedy night might be full of laughs, but at its heart is a mission – to make sure that no one grieves alone.”
We’re proud to stand alongside them to help open those doors.
If you’d like to be part of Comedy Night of the Year, you can book your tickets here.
Let’s keep making space for joy, for connection, and for each other.
