How Attending Live Events Can Positively Impact Wellbeing #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week, and the importance of spreading knowledge on this subject is greater than ever!

As a company that wants to increase awareness around well-being, we’ve pulled together some amazing feedback from our NHS and charity members, as well as some great stats on how attending live events makes you feel.

Our TFG members’ feedback on attending live events:

  • “TFG is a very special ‘battery’ charging point for NHS staff…re-charging us, so we can keep on giving. 😀
  • “It’s given me opportunities to look forward to that otherwise I would not have had, and helped both mine and my husband’s well-being.”
  • “Giving us quality time & making stand out memories with our loved ones.
  • “Helping us to refill our cups, take time out of ourselves & keep us proud of the job we do.”
  • “I know that ticket sites like yours exist for the wellbeing of NHS staff. I’ve had a really horrible week with my Complex PTSD and getting out was incredibly helpful. Thank you for making it possible. ❤️

How does attending live events impact mental health and well-being?

We know that live events make people feel differently, but recently studies have been done that show just how great experiencing a gig or sports game truly can be!

For example, The O2 and Patrick Fagan found that experiencing just 20 minutes of a live gig can increase well-being by 21% and add nine years to your life expectancy. How great is that? Especially when most gigs are over an hour long!

Also, a large study on attending sports games by academics at Anglia Ruskin University found that live sport attendance “has positive associations with some aspects of subjective wellbeing (life satisfaction and a sense of life being worthwhile) and loneliness” .

With more and more research being done on this topic, we’re sure that there will be loads more stats to back this up!

If you work for the NHS or a charity, we have some greats events focussing on well-being in particular (Wellnergy Festival in June)! You can sign up here to see everything we have on offer.
